  5. MICRO-EMACS is the baby brother of the powerful mainframe word processor
  6. EMACS.  Experienced EMACS users will enjoy the convenience of using the
  7. same editor that they use on mainframes.  This PC version packs all the
  8. functionality of its bigger relative with some PC niceties like 43 line
  9. EGA mode.

  11. MICRO-EMACS has several facilities that go beyond simple editing tasks
  12. like insertion and deletion.  These include multiple buffers and files,
  13. virtually unlimited file size, on-line help, file encryption, wild card
  14. search/replace, and many modes of operation on files, such as read-only
  15. viewing, C-mode for programmers working on source code, or wrap-mode for
  16. documents.  The system is extremely flexible due to an extensive
  17. built-in macro command language which allows the experienced user to
  18. create or re-map any command.  The complete C source code to the program
  19. is also provided.
